Date1919 - 1991
DescriptionBurlington Hall, located in Aston, was held in trust for Burlington Street Aston Early Morning School and was used for adult school classes and other associated activities from the 1890s. By the turn of the century it had 400 members but numbers dwindled in the years up to the Second World War and the Adult School ceased to exist in the mid 1940s.

In June 1944, a Committee was formed by the Religious Society of Friends Relief Service, the Midland Adult School Union and Warwickshire Monthly Meeting of the Religious Society of Friends with the provisional name Burlington Hall Management Committee. The Committee managed the premises of Burlington Hall as a centre for social and educational work and an attached cottage as a residence for staff running the Centre. The Hall later became known as Burlington Hall Neighbourhood Centre. Horace Holder was an active participant in the work at Burlington Hall.

A Compulsory Purchase Order in 1970-71 meant that the building became the property of the Corporation of Birmingham, and the work of the Burlington Hall Management Committee was taken over by the City Education Department who also became responsible for the management and finances of the new Newtown Community Centre which opened in October 1968. The final meeting of the Trustees was in c. 1970. Tom Greeves of Warwickshire Monthly Meeting of the Religious Society of Friends was on the Management Committee of the new Centre until 1971.
