AdminHistoryThe Joint Auxiliary Fire Service Sub-Committee was appointed in March 1938, as a sub-committee of the Air-Raid Precautions Committee (see BCC/1/CK/5). In November 1939, the sub-committee was transferred to the jurisdiction of the Watch Committee and then. In November 1940 the sub-committee's function was absorbed by the Fire Brigade Committee (see BCC/1/CO). The sub-committee originally consisted of representatives from the Air-Raid Precautions Committee and the Watch Committee, and dealt with all matters procedural and operational to do with the service.
