AdminHistoryThe Industrial Development Sub-Committee derived from the Special Sub-Committee on the British Industries Fair (see BCC 1/AG/38). It was appointed to arrange the visit of the Lord Mayor to the Industries Fair to open it, as well as organise expenditure, interior works, catering, and guest invitations. In 1929, under the Birmingham Corporation Act, this sub-committee also became responsible for the Birmingham Information Bureau. The sub-committee was disestablished in 1940, with the information function transferred to the new Information Sub-Committee (see BCC 1/AG/27), which was established after the Second World War.
