| Description | The minutes are handwritten and printed and signed by the committee Chairman. The minutes for BCC/1/AG/3/1/1 are in the volume entitled 'General Purposes Chancery Sub-Committee'. Minutes BCC/1/AG/3/1/2 - 4 are in the volumes entitled 'Parliamentary Sub-Committee'. Minutes BCC/1/AG/3/1/5 (dated 1910 - 1911) comprise the minutes of the Parliamentary Sub-Committee formed to assist the passage of the Greater Birmingham Extension Bill in 1910 - 1911, and can be found in the volume entitled 'Negotiation Sub-Committee' of the Boundary Committee (see BCC/1/EF/3/1/1 Negotiation Sub-Committee minute book). Minutes BCC/1/AG/3/1/6 - 8 are in the volumes entitled 'Law and Parliamentary Sub-Committee Minutes'. Minutes BCC/1/AG/3/1/9 onwards are in the appropriately dated combined sub-committee minute volumes (see BCC/1/AG/37/1). During 1967 and 1968 there was some confusion with the minute numbering, with two systems in operation. The original sequence continues and a new sequence starts from minute 1 that runs concurrently. However, the early new sequence numbers appear to have been integrated back into the original sequence, so it is a little confusing. The minutes include detailed correspondence and reports documenting the discussions between Council and Parliament over the implementation of specific legislation. |
