| Description | The minutes are handwritten and signed by the committee chairman. The minutes are uniformly titled minute volume. The minutes dated before November 1890 are currently missing (see BCC/1/AH/4/1/1). The minutes include detailed lists of the population of Birmingham and its rateable value, statements on the estimated surplus of Exchequer contributions under various local government legislation, and statements of overall income and expenditure, both for Birmingham and other local authorities (i.e. Warwickshire County Council). There is also information relating to how the financial adjustments in place related to various branches of local government, such as public works, the police, hospitals and Corporation staff, alongside details and statements of overall departmental expenditure. |
