| AdminHistory | The Finance Sub-Committee was appointed in November 1905; prior to this, the Tramways Sub-Committee dealt with some financial issues, and was even called the Tramways and Finance Sub-Committee on one occasion (see BCC/1/BE/2). It comprised of four members of the main Tramways Committee, with an initial remit to sign the accounts. In November 1912 the sub-committee's remit was extended, and was now required to consider and report to the main committee on accident claims, fares, and all other financial matters of the Tramways Department. The minutes themselves contain details of individual claims against the Corporation. In May 1960 this sub-committee was merged with the Tramways Works Sub-Committee to form the Finance and General Purposes Sub-Committee (see BCC/1/BE/8). |
