| AdminHistory | This sub-committee was formed in November 1920, and consisted of six members of the main Public Health Committee, plus representatives from the Red Cross, Order of St John and local organisations of ex-servicemen. Its function was to administer Canwell Hall, which was to be used as a convalescent home for ex-servicemen, and not for those recuperating from disease or illness. The home was eventually to become a baby hospital, resulting in the disbanding of this sub-committee in January 1926. |
