| Description | Minute volumes indexed. The minutes are printed and signed by the committee Chairman. Minute volumes BCC/1/BN/1/1/1 - 3 are entitled 'Baths Committee Minutes [1 - 3]'. Minute volumes compiled after January 1921 (BCC/1/BN/1/1/4 - 23) are in the appropriately titled committee minute volumes. The minutes include reports of the General Manager of the Baths Committee regarding general maintenance, staffing and financing of the various baths and swimming pools, the reports Special Sub-Committee for Sports Centres, which include a great deal of detail on the provision of leisure facilities (namely baths) across Birmingham, particularly on suburban council estates, Engineer's Reports for individual baths and pools, lists of land appropriated or acquired for the purposes of public bath provision, information relating to staff appointments and administration, accounts and statements of income and expenditure (including tenders and estimates for proposed works), and related correspondence and papers. The minutes of 18 October 1965 include a report and specification for proposed swimming baths to form part of the Exhibition Hall of Civic Centre, with inventories and schedules of internal works and fittings (see minute 14643 in BCC/1/BN/1/1/21). |
