| AdminHistory | The City of Birmingham Show Sub-Committee was appointed in November 1947. Its main function was to advise on the arrangements, finance, scheduling, exhibitions, entertainments, refreshments and organisation of the Birmingham show. The first show took place in Handsworth Park in August 1947, subsequently it became an annual event. The first minutes deal with all shows from 1947 - 1949, there after they deal with each show by year, until 1952, after which they are recorded as one sequence. A number of sub-sub-committees were appointed annually from 1946 to advise on show schedules and publicity for the forthcoming City of Birmingham Shows (see BCC/1/BO/19/1/24 and 34). |
