| AdminHistory | The Special Selection Sub-Committee was appointed prior to November 1920. It stopped meeting between April 1924 - December 1927, and January 1939 - May 1944, resulting in new minute sequences. Consisting of two to four members of the Council, the purpose of this sub-committee was, in conjunction with the Keeper of the Museum and Gallery, to purchase works of art from the various funds bequeathed to, or special extra funds made available to, the main Museum and Art Gallery Committee. In November 1944, these duties were merged into the new Finance and General Purpose Sub-Committee (see BCC/1/BQ/6). |
