DescriptionMinutes indexed. The minutes are printed and signed by the committee Chairman. Minutes BCC/1/BT/4/1/1 are in a uniformly titled minute volume. Minutes BCC/1/BT/4/1/2 onwards are in the appropriately dated combined sub-committee minute volumes (see BCC/1/BT/11). The minutes include more detailed staffing and financial information than that contained in the minutes of the main committee (see BCC/1/BT/1/1), including some printed copies of banking regulations; information relating to bank opening hours; the supply of bank offices (i.e. rental of safes etc); general staffing issues, pay and sickness; accounts and statements of income and expenditure (including reports relating to individual banks and the administration and collection of Corporation accounts); and related correspondence and papers. The minutes covering the Second World War (1939 - 1945) also include information relating to the impact of the war on the banks, including damage to buildings caused by air raids and group fire watching (see BCC/1/BT/4/1/6). The minutes of 7 October 1946 also include a report of the General Manager of the Bank Committee regarding Post-War Savings Schemes for schools.
