The records of the House Purchase Sub-Committee (A and B) contain detailed references on customer mortgages, arrears and defaults, often giving names, address (as its usually regarding the resident property) and reasons for arrears or default. The records have therefore been closed for 80 years under the provisions of the Data Protection Act, 1998.

Two House Purchase Sub-Committees were appointed, meeting on alternate weeks. Sub-committee ‘A’ dealt mainly with applications for mortgages, whereas sub-committee ‘B’ dealt more with arrears and defaults in payments.
