AccessConditionsThe records of the House Purchase Sub-Committee contain detailed references on customer mortgages, arrears and defaults, often giving names, address (as its usually regarding the resident property) and reasons for arrears or default. The records have therefore been closed for 80 years under the provisions of the Data Protection Act, 1998.
AdminHistoryOriginally, two House Purchase Sub-Committees were appointed, meeting on alternate weeks (see BCC/1/BT/5). These were merged in November 1921. The sub-committee was merged with the Finance Purchase Sub-Committee briefly during 1925 - 1926 (see BCC/1/BT/7), before being separated again.
