The minutes include the quarterly reports of the Medical Superintendent detailing mainly numbers of operations undertaken; reports on visits to hospitals by committee and other city officials; some tenders and reports relating to building and maintenance work carried out on city hospitals; information relating to training and lectures relating to medical care; information relating to staff appointments and training; some financial information and accounts, including details relating to charitable funds; and associated correspondence and papers. The minutes documenting the years immediately after the First World War include some information relating to the care of discharged servicemen at Highbury, Sorrento and Uffculme Hospitals (see particularly minutes from February 1919 in BCC/1/BW/1/1/1). |
