| AdminHistory | The Central Areas Management Committee was formed in November 1946, and consisted of four representatives from each of the Estates, Public Health and Public Works Committees. The committee was to be responsible for the conveyance to, and repair and collection of, rents from all properties that passed to the ownership of the Council through a compulsory purchase order until such times that they could be pulled down, altered or used for any purpose for the re-development of the area. The areas in question were Nechells, Duddeston, Ladywood, Summer Lane and Gooch Street. The committee was disbanded in January 1951, with most of its work being transferred to the New Estates Committee in February 1951 (see BCC/1/AM). |
