| AdminHistory | This Sub-Committee was appointed in November 1947, and consisted of nine members. The sub-committee took over the remaining Council role regarding mental health, following the formation of the National Health Service in July 1948. The Mental Health Hospitals Committee (see BCC/1/AF) and the Mental Deficiency Act Committee (see BCC/1/BY) had been disestablished, with the transfer of most of their functions to the National Health Service. This Sub-Committee organised day-care centres and transportation for after-care patients. |
