| AdminHistory | The Town Centre Redevelopment Sub-Committee was established in August 1969, and its purpose was to invite developers to design and submit offers for the phases of development around the town centre. It commenced with the shopping centre in 1969, but ended up covering the whole of the centre. The sub-committee changed its name, almost immediately, to the Central Area Sub-Committee, at its second meeting in October 1970. |
