| AdminHistory | The Residential Services Sub-Committee was formed in May 1972. Its main function was to administer all the residential establishments maintained by the Social Services Committee, namely homes for the elderly, disabled, children, the mentally ill, as well as any hostels. In April 1973, the Shawbury Approved School and the Field House and Forhill House Remand Homes were redefined as community homes, which meant that some of the responsibility of the Approved School and Observation Assessment Centre Sub-Committee (see BCC/1/DJ/2) was taken on by both the Residential Sub-Committee and the Community Support and Field Services Sub-Committee (see BCC/1/DJ/5). |
