| AdminHistory | The Coronation Committee was established to coordinate the festivities for the coronation of King George V on 22 June 1902. Although none of the main committee minutes survive, it is known that the festivities were similar to those organised for the Edward VII's coronation in 1902, except that the Electric Supply Department was charged with illuminating the Town Hall, while the public subscription fund was augmented by a grant of £3000 made by the Council to the Lord Mayor. |
