AdminHistoryThis was not technically a sub-committee, but its own committee providing the same function for the parish of Handsworth, which levied a different rate to that of Birmingham, despite being a part of the same Council. One effect of the Rating and Valuation Act of 1925 was to bring the parish of Handsworth into the County Borough of Birmingham for rating purposes, which was done after March 1927. This left only Erdington, Kings Norton and Northfield with a differential rating system, although these areas were incorporated later.
