| Description | The following special sub-committees were formed for specific reasons, sometimes sitting for just one session, for the purpose of undertaking the project stated in the sub-committee title. The description here lists all relevant minute volumes, dates and minute numbers together. This has been done to avoid making the hierarchical structure of the catalogue too complicated. The special sub-committees that reported to the Birmingham Hospitals Council are listed below:
1. November 1926 - May 1927, minutes 1 - 7 (New Hospitals Centre).
December 1926 - May 1927, minutes 1 - 14 (Buildings).
January 1927, no minute numbers (Joint Conference of the Buildings Sub-Committee of the Hospitals Council and the General Purposes Committee).

2. June 1939 - April 1940, minutes 1 - 25 (Casualty Hospital).
February 1941 - May 1944, minutes 1 - 13 (Holinsworth Fund).
July 1942, minutes 1 - 6 (GP Experimental Scheme).
March 1943, minutes 1 - 5 (Hospital Admission).
