| AdminHistory | n 1903 when the Aston Manor Urban District Council was created, a site on the main road from Birmingham into Aston was chosen for Aston Cross Library. The building was a statement of the district’s new status. The land was donated by nearby Ansells Brewery and the building paid for by the Carnegie Foundation. The library building in October that year.
The Greater Birmingham Act, 1911, meant that the Corporation now added Aston Cross Library to its remit. |
