DescriptionThe minute books are typed and indexed. The responsibilities of the Land Committee included confirming authorised decisions made by the Chairman of the Policy and Resources Committee, along with concurring proposals for the acquisition of land made by other Committees, such as the Public Works Committee. The Land Committee was also responsible for inspecting the suitability of premises for purpose, and the employment of attendants of those premises. It had the authority to invite proposals for the development of land in the City to aid regeneration, and oversaw the transfer of land from other Committees to the Land Committee. Appendices in the minute books give lists of properties approved in principle for acquisition by various Committees, and includes lists of properties offered for sale to the Corporation with the reasons for doing so, often on medical grounds.
