Items in this file include correspondence between the Children's Officer and the REAC, covering issues such as staff working hours, purchasing and requisitions, salaries, new children's homes, corporal punishment, changes to working conditions, and so on. Also included are correspondence between the REAC and other members of staff, memos circulated, and several articles from specialist journals. One of these is the '1968 Memorandum of the Residential Child Care Association', which contains responses from current or former children in care when asked about their views and experiences of children's homes and fostering.
