| Description | Aston Union founded its Assessment Committee in 1862, consisting initially of nine members. The volumes contain details of the Committee members, along with the appointment of surveyors employed to carry out the assessments. Whilst these are not included in full, the volumes do contain details of the appeals made by ratepayers against unfair valuations, and the final decisions of the committee.
