| Description | The Estate committee was founded in 1837 in order 'to take charge of and superintend the whole of the real Property belonging to the Corporation of Guardians and to report on the states thereof to the General Meeting of Guardians as occasion may require.' (see GP B/2/9/1/1) The committee consisted of 12 Guardians.
The minutes begin with a list of all the properties held by the Guardians, their size, the level of the rent accrued from them, and the name of the tenants (if any). The minutes then continue to describe the use of this property by the Guardians, along with any sales or purchases of land carried out by them. The volume only contains the minutes of seven meetings, and is not indexed. |
