| Description | The Office Building committee appears to have been founded in 1884 in order to oversee the building of new parish offices. Its main function was to accept tenders for all the facilities required for the new buildings - gas lighting, furniture, etc. - and then decide on the most competitive and reasonable offer. The committee appears to have stopped functioning in 1885, from the minutes index (see GP B/2/12/1/1, below) it appears that its responsibilities may have been taken over by the newly formed Office Maintenance Committee.
The minutes contain information on those companies offering tenders to the committee, and the final decision made by the Guardians regarding them. |
