| Description | More commonly, financial information regarding the Union would either be included in the minutes of the Finance Committee (see GP KN/2/4, below), or within the Clerk's ledgers, and occasionally in the minutes of the Board itself. However, a separate volume of accounts also exists for King's Norton Union. It is unclear if other volumes in this series existed, and if the Guardians continued to use them after 1910.
The volume is set out in a similar format to the Board minutes, giving the names of those Guardians attending each meeting. However, the emphasis is firmly upon financial details rather than minutes, describing those 'Orders [to] be signed upon the Treasurer in payment of the following Accounts and that the Treasurer be credited and the after mentioned Accounts be debited' (see GP KN/2/3/1). As well as those sums out-going to local firms for supplying the Union with goods, there are detailed lists of the Union's paid officials, and their yearly salaries. The volume is not indexed. |
