| Description | It is unclear when the Building Sub-Committee was founded. However, the Board minutes for the same period refer to the Union's building of a separate infirmary for the sick poor, and the committee may have been formed to supervise its construction. The same volume of minutes also refers to a sub-committee being formed by two Guardians for the purpose of reporting on a separate administration for the running of the Infirmary (see GP KN/2/1/36).
The volume itself contains minutes relating to the construction of new Union buildings, sanitary conditions at existing Union sites, and separate accommodation for various categories of the poor. References are made in the earlier minutes to the construction of a new building at Selly Oak, but it is not clear if these refer to the Infirmary (later Selly Oak Hospital). The volume is not indexed. |
