TitleLand Valuation Returns
LevelSub Series
Date1910 - 1914
DescriptionFollowing the 1909-1910 Finance Act, passed as part of a Government scheme to tax land values, all landowners were required to provide factual information which could then be used in assessing their lands. This was carried out via the return forms included in this volume. They contain details of the land itself, namely the parish in which it is situated, the occupier's name, a description of any buildings built upon it, its size, and its rental and rateable values. Also given are details on the level of land tax, and any recent sale of the land.

Whilst the majority of the returns are for King's Norton Union, the volume also contains some for Aston, during the period 1910-1911. From 1913 onwards, all of the returns are in the name of Birmingham Union, following the amalgamation of the three unions in 1912. The volume is indexed.
