| Date | 1882 - 1934 |
| Description | The post mortem books cover the deaths of patients from 1882-1934, but the sequence is incomplete. The post mortem books 2-6 use a different format (titled 'form 7') which gives the following information for each patient: name; age; sex; occupation; date on admission; date of death; mental disorder on admission and on death. The cause of death is given, with details of the autopsy. The front of the volume contains an index and the signatures of the Commissioners in Lunacy for the period. Some of the post mortem records are cross-referenced to the patient's case history in the casebooks. The volume number given is an old one and will be found in square brackets at the end of the casebook entry. |
