| Description | In 1902 'Glenthorne' house and 11 acres of land was leased to provide temporary accommodation for around 50 female patients. It opened in August 1902 and continued to operate throughout the period of these records. It was a secure institution for young offenders until 2002 and is currently (2014) the Ardenleigh Centre, a forensic psychiatric unit. |
