| AdminHistory | The Hebrew and Religious Instruction Committee (or Hebrew and Religious Instruction Board) consists of 10 members elected annually by Council, but not necessarily from its own body, with the Chief Minister and Assistant Minister as ex-officio members. According to the 1963 Laws of the Congregation, the Committee is responsible for providing religious instruction to children in schools throughout the City and for organizing barmitzvah and batmitzvah, children's services, teacher training, Chanukah Service, and prize distribution.
The Hebrew and Religious Instruction Committee and the Foundation Managers Committee replaced the School Committee in 1903. |
