Applicant overview: The primary objects of the WRDA are to provide facilities to, 1) advance the education of women in Northern Ireland who have little or no post school education, and, 2) promote the development of appropriate educational opportunities for women by association with statutory and voluntary organisations. The WRDA meets these objectives through, 1) a regional development programme which is promoting the development of sub-regional women's networks, 2) a region wide education and health outreach programme, 3) a region wide communication technology project, 4) databases resource packs and conference reports, and 5) providing advice and information. The WRDA is based in Belfast. Nature of support: In 1999 the Trust approved a single grant of £12,000 to allow the WDRA to extend the rural community facilitator's programme to Omagh and Mid-Ulster.
