Specific objectives to meet these aims are achieved by, 1) working with local women to identify their training and development needs, 2) supporting the personal development of individual women through formal and informal contact and by developing women's groups and support networks, 3) ensuring that the Centre secures sufficient funding and is sensibly managed by local women, 4) providing training and educational programmes for women to meet their needs, 5) offering positive, friendly, safe and caring environment where women can drop in, 6) working with women individually and in groups on projects which relieve poverty and protect their health and, 7) providing high quality childcare with play and informal educational activities for children. The Working for Change (WfC) programme is a co-operative association of four women trainers, researchers and consultants who are interested in working in a strategic way to bring about change, both individual and organisational. WfC is a collaborative programme supported by ASWRC. Nature of support: In 2000 the Trust approved three annual grants of £12,000 to WfC paid through ASRWC. In 2001 the Trust agreed to £15,000 for 2001/2002 plus up to £30,000 for 2002/2003 and 2003/2004. In 2002 the current payment was increased by £3,500.
