Funding source(s): Barrow Cadbury Trust. Applicant overview: The HEFC is Coventry and Warwickshire's largest independent, local grant maker. It was established in 1995 and awards major grants in excess targeting the money efficiently to where it makes the most impact in grassroots communities. The activities of the HEFC aim generally to bring the benefits of local philanthropy, especially long-term support, to grass roots community projects. The Coventry Women's Development Fund (CWDF) was established by the HECF, Coventry Voluntary Service Council (CVSC) and the Barrow Cadbury Trust. The Fund was established to support local community based initiatives which enable women to challenge and address local concerns and local issues of justice and equality. Nature of support: In 2001 on the advice of Gender Programme Relevant Trustees the Trust approved three annual grants of £12,750, £12,000 and £12,000 towards small grants with £1,000 each year being allocated to networking and administration costs.
