It contains the names of women admitted as far back as 1856 and includes entries up to 1960 in a single hand. Additional entries have been added up to 1977. The register would appear to be from the almshouses in Station Road, Erdington (up to 1939) and Mason Cottages, Orphanage Road (1939-).
The names are listed in order of date of admission to the almshouses, but there is an alphabetical index. The register records name, date of birth, date of leaving and, as appropriate, reason for leaving. |
