| Description | This volume records stocks of food items, e.g. bread, meat, cheese, etc. As well as recording stocks, the volume records 'extra-ordinary expences [sic] of housekeeping', recording expenditure on items such as: mistresses' salary, paper and books, cloth, flax, glazier's bill, cooper's bill, etc. An annual summary appears after each year, which totals 'ordinary expences', 'ordinary and extraordinary expences', 'total of one year excluding salaries', 'extraordinary charge' and costs per head, per year, month and day. At the rear of the book there are further annual summaries that give a breakdown of expenditure on each item in the list of expenses, e.g. there will be a total for the year's expenditure on meat, etc. |
