| Description | This volume is a minute book for various committees; the Building Committee and the New Institution [building] Committee form the bulk of the minutes. Other minutes and items that appear in this volume include: Alteration Sub-Committee, Secretary Sub-Committee, Chaplain Sub-Committee, Special Committee, report on sanitary conditions of the institution.
The minutes are numbered but the numbering is inconsistent and stops and begins again at random intervals: minutes 1 to 81 (run from 27 October November 1852 to 10 March 1854), 1 to 182 (from 112 June 1989 to 22 July 1921). The minutes at the beginning of the volume deal with building works, costs, issues, etc.
The minutes later in the volume deal with issues as per the committee title. The New Institution Committee deals mostly with land and property, particulars of property and leaseholds. This volume also contains some Joint Education and House Committee minutes which deal with school issues. |
