| Description | Annual Convention programmes from individual black-led churches around the West Midlands. At the time of cataloguing the churches represented are the Assemblies of The First Born, Derby; the Church of God of Holiness, Ladywood, Birmingham; the New Testament Church of God, Oughton Road and Lozells, Birmingham; the Life and Light Fellowship churches in Bearwood and Handsworth, Birmingham; the Calvary Church of God in Christ, at Moseley and Newtown, Birmingham; the Church of God in West Bromwich; the International First Born Church of the Living God national conventions. The programmes were self published by the churches and then sold to the attendees. They list the names of people actively involved in church life, such as ushers and song leaders among others. Some of the programmes are annotated with extracts from the bible, recipes, hymns, telephone numbers etc., or have notes on scraps of paper inside them. Not every year is represented in the collection. |
