| Description | Photographed by Coventry City Council City Engineer's Department. Stone wall on east side of Broadgate found on excavating for the Post Office cable trench near Martin's Bank. Over this wall another of the 16th - 17th centuries had been built. The stone wall was roughly hewn, the lime mortar apparently being made from oyster shells. The opening below Mr Shelton's hand is an old drain in which a silver spoon was found. |
