DescriptionThe address and docket are on a separate wrapper. On the same sheet: Memorandum of Experiment made with Boiler No. 726. Soho Foundry, 15 Dec. 1837. Docketed “With copy of experiments with Myrtle’s boiler. No advantage from lowering the bridges. Men busily engaged packing Sclessin and Danube materials. Expects a reinforcement to the coppersmith establishment in Pemberton’s son and brother. Observe Danube Co. want a pair of 60 horse engines – have a light pair 3 feet 6 inc stroke – but an estimate of regulars was sent in June last which is a reason for adopting them, and to bring in the boiler same as Soho’s. Young Richards states the thickness of plates to be taken out of the water spaces. Estimate of Danube Co. sent in June last. Part of Danube materials gone.” This letter was left behind by the postman, and was subsequently added to on 22 Dec.
