DescriptionLondon Office. Letters to James Brown in London, from 1839. The letters are addressed to London Street unless otherwise noted.
In this year the firm began looking for a new office, as 13 London Street was due to be demolished because of the extension of the Blackwall Railway. Therefore James Watt Jr.’s letters of this year contain references both to the valuation of 13 London Street, and the suitability of 18 London Street, which the office moved to the following year. Watt Jr.’s letters also contain references to Arago’s Eloge of his father. Relatively few letters from this year have survived.
