| Description | Of the various Cornish mines who withheld engine premium payments from Boulton in the 1790s, some later settled without recourse to legal action. Boulton & Watt pursued others through the courts, taking action against the mine owners or "adventurers" and often their engineers – both Edward Bull and Richard Trevithick were cited in the case of Ding Dong Mine. Some of these mines had erected "pirate" engines, others had Boulton & Watt engines.
