| Description | Letters from James Lawson from 1802. Lawson was one of Boulton & Watt’s longest-serving and most experienced engine erectors and engineers. Most of these letters are written from Manchester, where Lawson was Boulton & Watt’s agent, and from Yorkshire, Scotland, South Wales and Ireland, where he travelled extensively during this year. From 1796 Lawson’s letters were kept in yearly bundles. |
