Description“Dear Sir, When last I saw you at Soho you was pleas’d to say you would engage to throw up a certain quantity of water a given height with a fix’d qty. of coles. The question below — shall be obliged to you to favour me with a line setting forth therein the expense of Erecting such an engine.

What is the expense of throwing up 6 ton of water pr. min. 29 ft. high.”
Boulton has used the sheet for calculations and a draft of his reply. Under Arkwright’s letter he has written “Qy. if our Soho could not on this occasion be converted into Money. I’ll come in Morng. to you.”
