| Description | Letters and papers relating to the Birmingham Water Works, 1829 to 1830. The Water Works planned to employ steam power to pump water to the city. Boulton Watt & Co. were invited to provide an estimate, and the engineer William Chadwell Mylne prepared a report on the proposals drawn up by the Water Works’ engineer Mr. Rofe. Many of the letters and memoranda are by William Creighton, the head of Boulton Watt & Co.’s Drawing Office. |
