| Description | Memoranda, sketches and calculations for proposed and experimental steam boat designs. These include various types of engine, the layout of “passage boats” and various methods of propulsion. The majority of the items are by William Creighton, the head of the Drawing Office. Many date from around 1815, when Boulton Watt & Co. were working on designs for boat engines in order to properly enter the expanding boat engine market.
