Single-acting engine, with 28 inch cylinder, 2½ foot stroke, direct connection.

General view and plan of the engine and boiler, cross-sections of the boiler and seating and front view of the engine - coloured original and coloured reverse drawings. All the drawings bear letter codes.
Also "Copy of Plan of proposed situation of Engines for the Gloucester & Berkeley Canal Co. by Mr. W. Clegram" - partially coloured plan and section showing River Severn, canal basin and dock etc., marked "Brought to Soho 22 Jan. 1833" and "Engines not ordered at Soho").

For the Gloucester & Berkeley Canal Co. Pumping engine mounted in a boat, and referred to as a "boat engine". The drawings were placed in the same book as those for the first "boat engine" ordered in 1794 [see Pf. 1276a].
