Section and plan of the heating pipes (also showing water wheels), longitudinal and cross-sections and plan of the boiler - reverse drawings. Both these drawings bear letter codes. Also the following items from 1814: letter from Henry Creighton dated Stony Middleton, 23 Jul. 1814, with sketch plan and section of the new buildings and details of the heating apparatus required etc., docketed "Sketches & particulars of new buildings at Gardon Pares & Co. Calver Mill, for which an estimate is wanted. Birley & Hornby enquire about the strength of the beam over the engine house. Mr. Ewart's opinion of the power & pressure to be used in the vacuum pumps"; sketch plan and section by Creighton showing the arrangement of the heating pipes. For Gardon Pares & Co. Calver Mill, Derbyshire. Calver Mill was later operated by Heygate Mason & Co., who bought a new boiler in 1834, possibly for this heating apparatus [see Portfolio 5/1332]. |
